Lovers of all kinds of travel, which are so harmoniously combined with the greatness of nature, should definitely discover Pollino Park, located at the junction of two Italian regions: Calabria and Basilicata. The most extensive Italian park, which is under UNESCO protection, will offer you a variety of natural wonders: Dolomite cliffs, alpine meadows and pastures, centuries-old trees, various lakes, rivers and streams, waterfalls of different heights, as well as many trails for excursions.

Walking options can be found on the park map, but, of course, the most exciting ones will be those that you need to go with experienced guides. Starting, for example, from the Jannace ditch, you will step onto a path that winds along the edges of the stream, you will cross it several times over impressive wooden bridges. During the walk you can admire the white spruce and maple, as well as numerous centuries-old trees. At an altitude of 1900 meters, you will find a beautiful landscape framed by Loricati pines. Lokarti pines are a symbol of the park and its heritage, growing in harsh conditions at an altitude of more than 1,000 meters – where other trees cannot survive. These pines are very impressive with their unusual shape.

Alternatively, you can choose to ride a mountain bike along a variety of trails equipped for this type of walking. The Magnano Tavern has a well-equipped adventure park that includes trails for the disabled. Finally, not far from the park, Castelsaracheno is home to the longest Tibetan bridge in the world, an impressive engineering work connecting Pollino National Park and Lucano Val d'agri Lagonegrese Apennine Park. At an altitude of more than two thousand meters, ski resorts open in winter, where you can try your hand at various winter sports, including skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding.
