Sicily is a place where everyone will find something native, special and desirable. This island is a treasure trove of historical monuments, a mix of cultures, a variety of nature and cousine. Having a very convenient location in the Mediterranean Sea, it has always attracted conquerors from all over the world who sailed here to conquer this tasty morsel. Therefore, the whole earthly history with all its assets is mixed up here.

To understand the traditions, culture, cuisine, and various local dialects, it is not enough to know the history of the entire island, but it is necessary to study each individual region, and then each individual town. Literally at every step, under the feet of travelers, there are treasures here: archaeological finds, amazing creations of nature, a variety of delicacies, architectural monuments and, in the end, the mixing of all this into one whole. In Sicily, you can walk through mythological places to better understand the history of the island.

Until now, archaeologists and scientists continue to discover amazing finds here, plunging more and more into the history of Sicily's past... Scientists still do not agree on where exactly people came to the island, but it is known for sure that it was inhabited during the Paleolithic period, as evidenced by drawings found in local caves. The island was inhabited by ancient tribes: Sicani and Siculi. The discovery in recent decades on the island of the remains of mysterious dolmens dating back to the second half of the third millennium BC (just think about these dates!) It suggests that some of these tribes came here from the Aegean Sea.

Sicily was ruled by great powers: Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Greeks, Romans, Vandals and Ostrogoths, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, Aharonians, Spaniards, Austrians, British...It was a powerful county and Kingdom of Sicily, and had a much broader geographical outline.
