Umbria: hidden gems. Travel Itinerary. Tours of Italy.

Are you planning a trip to Tuscany? If yes, a trip to this fabulous region of Italy can easily be combined with a mini trip to Umbria. These are two regions that border each other and very famous tours of Italy. At the moment, Umbria is less crowded with tourists and, basically, most travelers come to see the sights in the famous city of Perugia. Of course, this magnificent city of Umbria deserves attention, but what if you drive through the hidden from many eyes and less well-known, but no less beautiful, pearls of this land, decorated with vineyards and cypresses, olive groves and flower fields. Among the places that are definitely worth visiting is the incredible and exciting spectacle of nature - Marmore Waterfalls. If you travel by car, you can reach this fabulous place in an hour from Perugia and two hours from Florence. By the way, Rome is not far away either – just an hour and a half and you are in an ancient Roman city.

Umbria Private Tour

The waterfalls were created by the Romans in 271 AD. At an altitude of 165 meters, it is the largest artificial waterfall in the world! Six roads run through the heart of the waterfalls. Here you will be greeted by lush vegetation and a landaft with caves and panoramic views, where you can enjoy breathtaking views. Here you can really feel the wildlife, enjoy its sounds and aromas, get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and in the hot season feel the freshness of waterfalls, herbs and trees.

If you want to diversify your day, it is very convenient to look into one of the popular cities: Umbria or Rome. Although, of course, it is better to allocate more days for them. In this case, to continue your journey through the unexplored corners of Umbria, you can set a route to Narni – a small village nearby, which is worth discovering, walking through its alleys and even through a magical dungeon, admiring its natural and monumental beauties. Narni is a treasure hidden from traditional tourist routes.

For lunch time, you can book one of the many wineries where you will be offered to taste the region's traditional wines with a variety of local snacks. As a rule, each Umbrian winery is located among the most beautiful panoramas, where you will also continue to enjoy nature and privacy.

This is just one of the many options for those places that can be explored on non-traditional routes around Italy, and where you can plunge into the nature and life of this area. There are new publications ahead of us, and we hope that we will introduce you to Italy better, as well as reveal to you the pleasure and luxury of Italian nature, its gifts mixed with history and great cities.
